Hello, I’m Liam

A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't in the grand plan. Like many international moves, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday tasks felt more burdensome than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Built ExpatNest
Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family insight.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Canada.
